Office & Admin FAQ's

1. What hours is the onsite office open?

Billabong Self Storage is open 6 days a week Monday through to Friday and on Saturdays. Please check our contact page for site specific office hours. The onsite office is only closed on Good Friday, Anzac Day, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and all other Western Australian public holidays.

2. What do I need to sign up for a storage unit?

Signing up at Billabong Self Storage is a very simple process. We require that you:

  • Provide a current form of photo ID (drivers licence or passport)
  • Fill out the Storage Agreement
  • Fill out the sign-up checklist
  • Pay the first month’s storage fee (unless stated otherwise)
3. Are my goods insured?

NO- Billabong Self Storage does not provide insurance. The goods you have stored in your Self Storage unit are yours and remain your sole responsibility. We recommend that you make arrangements for your goods to be insured under your existing insurance policy(s).

4. How do I pay for my storage unit?

Billabong Self Storage offers a variety of methods to pay for your account.

  • EFT: You can transfer payments directly from your bank account to us at any time.
  • Credit Card: We accept Visa & MasterCard (no surcharge), either over the phone or in person.
  • Ezidebit: We can set up automatic payments through your Credit Card or bank account.
  • Storpay: Login via the link on the top left hand side of our homepage to pay your account direct (currently the Gnangara site only).
  • Cash or Cheque: Come by our office and pay your account within office hours.
5. Why should I choose Billabong Self Storage?

Billabong Self Storage’s purpose built layout provides you with easy to access storage with driveway access direct to your unit. Just drive up to your door and unload without the hassle of stairs, narrow corridors and lifts. We also provide the very best customer service, with our friendly consultants who are willing to make your experience with Billabong Self Storage an easy one.

6. What is the minimum storage period?

The minimum storage period is one month, unless stated otherwise in promotional offers.

7. How much notice do I need to give to move out?

We require you to give a minimum of 14 days’ notice before you vacate your unit.

8. Do I get a refund if I move out earlier than expected?

Refunds are only given if your move out date is after the agreed period on the storage agreement and within the notice period (stated above).

9. What are the prices?

Our prices vary depending on what size and type of unit you require. Please call our friendly consultants for more information and to see what deals we have on offer. We would also highly recommend that you visit our sites to see these options first hand.

10. Are there any hidden charges such as admin fees?

At Billabong Self Storage we do not have any charges such as bonds or admin fees. Any charges that may be incurred will be stated on the Self Storage Agreement.

Facility FAQ's

1. What hours can I access my storage unit or outdoor parking bay?

Billabong Self Storage offers access to your unit anytime from 6am – 7:30pm 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 24 hour access is also provided upon request and granted if circumstances pertain.

2. Can I access my storage unit on WA public holidays?

YES- Although the onsite office will be closed, you will still be able to access your units during the access hours. If you are unable to open the gate or are having issues with entering the Facility, we advise that you call the number above the gate pin control panel for assistance.

3. What kind of security do you have?

We offer 24/7 back to base security with CCTV footage of the facility, along with strategically located infra-red beams across all of our exterior fences.

4. What kind of pest control do you have?

At Billabong Self Storage we protect our site from pests with multiple pest control boxes located around the Facility. We also perform regular pest control checks and maintenance to all boxes.

5. What facilities are available for moving my items?

Billabong Self Storage don’t currently offer any trucks or trailers for moving items. However, call us and we can help you get in touch with affordable and reliable removalists that are willing to get the job done.

6. Where can I get packaging material?

Billabong Self Storage offers an array of packaging materials for your convenience both in-store and online (coming soon). We sell everything from boxes in a range of sizes to suit different packaging needs, packing tapes and paper, bubble wrap, and all importantly a range of locks.

7. Can I store my truck, boat or caravan?

Unit FAQ's

1. What size units do you have?

We offer a variety of different unit types and sizes which can be found on our locations page. For more help on finding your perfect unit size, please try our FREE space calculator.

2. What can’t I store in my storage unit?

Under the Self Storage Agreement, you cannot store any goods that are hazardous, dangerous, illegal, stolen, perishable, environmentally harmful or explosive, or that are a risk to the property of any person. Please refer to the Self Storage Agreement for the full list of prohibited items.

3. Do the units have power?

NO- There is no power to any of the units or outdoor bays. However there are a few power points located in the aisles around the facility.

4. How do I lock my unit?

As a Self Storage facility you are responsible for locking your unit and retaining the key. You are welcome to bring your own padlock, however we sell both key and combination style locks in our onsite office for your convenience.

5. Who has access to my unit?

As above mentioned, you are responsible for locking your unit and holding onto your keys. Billabong Self Storage will only have access to your unit if you are under a Managed Agreement, which you allow our consultants to have access to your unit on your behalf. This type of Agreement is particularly suited to businesses and trade that regularly receive product deliveries.

6. Can I give my code/key to others e.g. removalists or relatives?

Billabong Self Storage strongly advises against giving your pin code or key to others. However, if you choose to do so, we do not take responsibility for any issues that occur. For trades and businesses who have multiple employees accessing their space and are concerned with sharing access codes, please discuss with our consultants ways we can help to manage these entries.
